چکیده

Abstract A dynamic programming (DP) approach with adaptive state generation and conflicts resolution is developed to address the timetable-rescheduling problem (TRP) at relatively lower computation costs. multi-stage decision-making model first represent procedure in high-speed railways. Then, an method by reordering trains each station proposed dynamically create possible states according of previous stages, such that infeasible can be removed search space reduced. are resolved retiming arrival and/or departure times trains. Furthermore, transfer equation built Bellman derive solution minimize total delay time (TT). series simulation experiments a real-world case study used evaluate performance method. The indicate able find optimal timetable appropriate overtaking right stations reduce 62.7% 41.5% respect First-Come-First-Serve (FCFS) First-Schedule-First-Serve (FSFS) strategy widely practice. Comparing intelligent scheduling (e.g., Ant Colony Optimization Particle Swarm Optimization), similar objective achieved much cost time, which make more applicable TRP daily operation railway.

A Fuzzy Optimization Model for High-Speed Railway Timetable Rescheduling

A fuzzy optimization model based on improved symmetric tolerance approach is introduced, which allows for rescheduling high-speed railway timetable under unexpected interferences. The model nests different parameters of the soft constraints with uncertainty margin to describe their importance to the optimization purpose and treats the objective in the same manner. Thus a new optimal instrument ...

The multi-objective railway timetable rescheduling problem

Unexpected disruptions occur for many reasons in railway networks and cause delays, cancellations, and, eventually, passenger inconvenience. This research focuses on the railway timetable rescheduling problem from a macroscopic point of view in case of large disruptions. The originality of our approach is to integrate three objectives to generate a disposition timetable: the passenger satisfact...

High-speed Railways in Germany

When the railway appeared as a new means of transportation in the first half of the 19th century, its top speed of 30 to 40 km/h was considered dangerous. In Germany, where Adler transported two barrels of beer between Nuremberg and Fürth in 1835 as the first German rail freight, physicians warned people against such perilous adventures and farmers were worried that their cows grazing alongside...

A multi-stage stochastic programming for condition-based maintenance with proportional hazards model

Condition-Based Maintenance (CBM) optimization using Proportional Hazards Model (PHM) is a kind of maintenance optimization problem in which inspections of a system relevant to its failure rate depending on the age and value of covariates are performed in time intervals. The general approach for constructing a CBM based on PHM for a system is to minimize a long run average cost per unit of time...

A Multi-Stage Single-Machine Replacement Strategy Using Stochastic Dynamic Programming

In this paper, the single machine replacement problem is being modeled into the frameworks of stochastic dynamic programming and control threshold policy, where some properties of the optimal values of the control thresholds are derived. Using these properties and by minimizing a cost function, the optimal values of two control thresholds for the time between productions of two successive nonco...
